Flowering Tangerine Mandarin Satsuma
(Citrus Reticulata 'Satsuma')

Native to China and Southeast Asia, the Mandarin Tangerine is a small tree (15' - 20' tall) with slender branches and lance shaped shiny evergreen leaves. Its leaf stems are slightly winged. The white flowers appear in March and April and are very fragrant. The orange colored fruit is juicy and sweet, loose skinned and easy to peel. They are approximately 3.0" in diameter and have easily divided sections. They are similar to oranges, but usually smaller and looser skinned. The fruit of most varieties matures in winter.
